Most of the people are confused with Ambavade village or fauji Ambavade, etc. However, there is no relation of Babasaheb Ambedkar with fauji Ambavade. Since the village was not approachable by roads in those days, Ramji Sakpal(Ambedkar) father of Babasaheb Ambedakar used to visit this village on foot only and by taking two overnight halt/stay on the way. He used to travel from Dapoli(second home) to Ambadave (distance 65 km). It is located in North-west direction and about 15 km away from Mandangad. It can be reached by road through Mandangad-Bankot Road and upto distance about 7 km from Mandangad. After traveling about 7 km, there is a direction sign Board at right hand side, displaying Ambadave village distance and direction. The small road passes through Pacharal. It is about 8 km away from the Mandangad-Bankot road by crossing two small villages. It is about 15 km away from Mandangad through Mandangad-Bankot road. After reaching about 7 km, there is direction board right side, showing Ambadave village distance (8 km). The small road passes through Pacharal village. One has to take Sawari-Nigdi road and then Ghumari road to reach Ambadave village.

Roads are not so good. If you have own vehicle, then it is possible to reach there and come back on time or hire vehicle at Mandangad for to and pro journey. Ambadave village is very small and about 80 families live there. About 25 families are Sakpal (Ambedakar) and about 55 families are other OBC. Due to hilly and non-approachable village during those days, Babasaheb Ambedkar visited few times during his young age with his father. Ramji Sakpal, father of Babsaheb Ambedkar, lived in different places like Mahow (M.P), and Dapoli, during his military service and after retirement from British army, he lived in Satara, and then in Mumbai. Bhimabai, mother of Babasaheb Ambedkar, died in 1896 in Satara and her Samadhi is also found in Satara. Babasaheb used to pay tribute to her mother when he visited to Satara. Ramji Sakpal(Ambedkar) died on 2 February, 1913.
